A Jacobite Takeover  at the Castle

Over seven hundred people turned up at Braemar Castle in support of the 265th anniversary of the arrival of Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745.

The castle grounds were the scene of sheep shearing, archery, sword fighting, traditional highland games, assault courses, spinners and weavers, story tellers, birds of prey and Jacobite camps. The afternoon culminated in a pageant, in music, song and dance,   depicting the Bonnie Prince’s 424 days on British soil.
